Call of Duty: Black Ops Review 3D

HomeReviewsGamingGamesCall Of Duty: Black Ops Review 3DPosted Spencer Dalziel on TUE 16 nov 2010

Game developer Harmonix Music systems is the second fiddle more as it pulls out 3D immersion in a brilliant game

Treyarch spent the last few months hawking in 3D worn by the Call of duty measures luxury. we have already mentioned how much we love our Call of Duty: Black Ops review so we don't dwell on it, but we have not yet dealt with if it lived up to Treyarchs third dimensional promised land.

The game does not entirely satisfy the requirements for NVIDIAS 3D VISION READY stamp of approval (of which there are only 13 titles so far) but the second rating of excellent. It will be enough to keep 3D fraggers happy?

Check our Call of Duty: Black Ops pictures

We went into the warzone, donning NVIDIAS 3D specifications with a 3-d VISION compatible Acer GD245HQ flat (approx. £ 290) running at 120 Hz. We also had the creative new SoundBlaster tactics 3D Sigma headphones (£ 79) and a very powerful quad-core machine with 8 GB of memory and 2x768MB GeForce 8800 Ultra 's.

We have heard that both console versions scale down in resolution to deal with 3D.This means that the PS3 and Xbox 360 version which leads through improved, has no real HD support for higher resolutions.

While some PC fanboys have complained about performance lag, we had no problem-as long as you have the latest driver; we are fortunate to have a top that up, but like all call of duty games, the developers have optimized the code so that it should run quite well on most systems; as I said, is not going to be cheap to upgrade your game to 3D.

What we found was a huge performance increase with the latest driver from NVIDIA.Play 3D requires a driver update from NVIDIA, but we also had a massive performance increases in 2D as well.Running 3D is running two games simultaneously and it takes its toll on all systems; however, Raven software has done a terrific job with keeping the performance gap between 2D and 3D to a minimum. In fact, we found hardly any difference in frame rates when we switched between the two.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3D: Gameplay

PC gamers get HD glory with full Visual and aural 3D sensorama in equation.3D is not a cheap layered trick as a pop-up book.It has the depth of field is really add to the immersive game.Every inch of blood sweat and tears in 3D is incredible. Gun models just floating in the middle of the screen and landscape provided a richer perspective not amounted in 2D.

But it is the large action set pieces that made our JAWS glued in the 3D floor – in particular the trip up the River Hanoi. We manned an armed boat with machine guns and rockets, fending off attacks from boats and helicopters with rocket launchers; 3D headphones investment funds each sound of attack properly and 3D-effects of rockets blasting against showed us a 3-d cliché; And Yes, we tried to dodge them by moving our leaders.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3D: complaints

It is not entirely without errors; the default is very dark, so you must turn on full brightness; we also had some ghosting issues was especially noticeable on reflective areas such as water; These will take you straight from the well-designed the rabbit hole but they remain minor deficiencies, none-the-less.

We had problems with glasses and headphones, because they are not amazonly comfortably and meant we had to have headphones too far to sit right over our ears.

McDonald's does not cover any new ground in the game or the plot, but one thing is so beautifully well hung in 3D space, it's hard to complain about; we can't wait to see what tune other fiddler plays next …

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3D release date: now

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3D price: £ 35-45

Text, instant messaging and e-mail are all set to land in a unified Facebook inbox.

Facebooks much-hyped e-mail service are here; but it is certainly not the epic Gmail rival some tech fanatics had hoped for. It is actually more of a restart of the entire messages offer on social networks, so you can access the chat, Email and text messages in one place.

The core of your changes is what Facebook calls "Social Inbox"; This means that only messages from your friends and their friends will display in your main mailbox. Spam or mail from people who aren't on Facebook, will land in the "other" mailbox. but these can easily be moved to the main folder and you can change the settings so that as many or as few important messages in your Inbox by Central.

There should be access to the entire conversation history, so you can see all your messages with a friend or a group, in one place, whether email, texts and chats; and best of all, messages must not come from the Facebook service, so that your friends who aren't on board can still find you easily.

And while all Facebook users will be able to get a e-mail address @ facebook.com, Zuckerberg and co. are keen to point out is not your regular e-mail offers. There should be no cc, or Bcc features and you will be able to send messages by just hitting enter, it is rather a way to bring together all types of messages in one place and not priority over others.

The service is due to start rolling out "in the coming months", and while you will not be able to plug e-mail clients due to a lack of IMAP support, Facebook says it will eventually play nice with Mail and Outlook.

Logitech Revue review: Google TV hands-on

HomeReviewsTVDVRLogitech Revue review: Google TV hands-on onPosted of Rhiain Morgan on TUE 16 nov 2010

Still no word on a release date but it will be worth the wait?

This is Logitech Revue, the first Google TV set-top box.Google TV for those without a Sony set, it is the first of its kind and is set to be the exclusive Google TV for some time, it may take your Apple TV and Xbox 360, and how good are Google TV? let us take a closer look.

Logitech Revue: attitude

The design of the box is quite simple, all you need is Logitech Revue himself and a controller. This can be either a full size keyboard, a mini keyboard Logitech diNovo or control your googlebox with an available on Android and Apple iPhone app.

Logitech Revue: controllers

The most interesting of controllers is by far the phone app. both to the keyboard, you can quickly search, pause and record TV with control volume. In addition to control the phone is that you can also switch on and off your entire installation and take up a video that you watch your Android or iPhone on the big screen.Handy of you have taken a video when you are out and about.

Logitech Revue: Interface

Go from the controller interface and features; first impression is that it feels so much like an Android mobile interface blown up. It is easy to use and the icons are bold and large, making it easy to use it on your TV.Live Search provides results from your DVR recordings, program guides and Web; a search for T3, such as reversing the website and our YouTube channel.

Logitech Revue: features

Another practical feature is the dual monitor.Similar to the Samsung 9000 series, you can watch two things at once, in Revue. If you are watching a game of football on your DVR but want to check the scores on the other, you can continue in the dual TV mode.

Browsing menu feel intuitive and very well thought out.On the main screen for home, bookmarks, for you favorite sites, channels and programs.Spotlight offers a selection of TV optimized apps and queue, you can configure your own personal playlists.

Logitech Revue: Google TV apps

One of the most exciting things to come out of Google TV is apps if you picture the Android market place on your TV, you'll be disappointed; Google has announced that it will be in 2011, but you may need to wait a little longer on some half-decent apps.

At launch, there will be a few apps from Logitech, the Logitech Logitech HD media player, and At first will connect to any DLNA compliant devices in your home and stream content on the TV while the other allows video calling; you will need to buy an extra camera to Nile perch on top of your set, but it works pretty good and is another string to the Revue fören.

Logitech Revue: conclusion

All in all Revue is a good offer and an alternative to those who want Google TV but not fork out on a new Sony set; it is also, Google TV is still very much a start-ups and at the moment, the possibilities are exciting. no word on when we'll get Revue or Google TV in Europe but for those in the United States there is now for $ 299.99, you'll get your hands on the Logitech Revue, along with full-sized keyboard.

Teac Aurb review

HomeReviewsAudioSpeakersTeac Aurb ReviewPosted by Jim Hill on TUE, 16 nov 2010

Fantastic bass performance from this affordable and sleek iPod dock

TEACS later day ghetto blaster, SR100I Aurb combines expanded iPod dock, FM radio and slot-loading CD player to great effect in this stylish elliptical design. Factor in a USB port on which to play MP3 files directly from the Flash drive and format flexibility so that you can find.

Clearly inspired by b&w Zeppelin and Meridian F80, packed an equally powerful Aurb 2x50W amp until similarly styled cabinets. The big difference is the price, this pretender built at a fraction of the budget for both models, so you actually get much more value for your money, but with a little less finesse.

Little touches, like the way the cradle bracket glides out from the smooth front fascia accept your iPod, ensure this classy, however, is still in a similar League but.

The tapering shape is apparently perfect shape to accommodate the two-way stereo speakers, bass reflex ports and associated electronics. It also provides a good amount of space between the speakers, which reaches a convincing stereo imaging when you sit in front of it.

It is a powerful audio also backed up with prodigious base that can really move some air when called for, in fact love Aurb nothing more than to cut with soaring guitars and explosive drums. The base is less punchy as Geneva Sound 'S, but it fills the room nicely; And at the other end of the scale, tweeter is a splashy touch. Commends the boomy bass, so that the overall effect is a compelling sound that takes your attention and delivers a compelling enough performance for this price.

And if you still remember your CD collection, slot-loading the player can be the Aurb killer feature. A well-produced CD album still trumps all too compressed MP3 files after all and the sound here is very clean and fresh.

The USB port is not able to read an external hard drive disc drive boring, but it is very fast access of the songs on a stick. Front panel controls make it easy to switch between sources and you'll also get a perfect surfboard-shaped remote control for armchair operation.

A battery to make this beat you really portable would have been nice, but if this and the lack of a wi-fi music streaming features not faze you and you're in the market for a bass-heavy boom box with all styles covered, it might be accused of you.

Teac Aurb price: £ 240

Teac Aurb release date: out now, find out more from Teac
