Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (Hitachi GST) has announced the availability of two new drives under CinemaStar family. Known as C5K750 and CinemaStar 5 K 2000 as hard disk drives are optimized for the growing digital video recorder (DVR), IPTV set-top-box (STB), video and emerging hard disk built-in TV markets. CinemaStar C5K750 2.5 inch drives for Hitachi's first consumer electronics market with extended format, which increases the size of the physical sector on the hard disk from 512 bytes to 4096 bytes (4 K). It is currently available in 750 GB, 640 GB and 500 GB storage space.
In 1 .5TB and 2TB of storage capacity, 3.5-inch CinemaStar 5 K 2000 family comes equipped with CoolSpin technology to deliver more efficient and are quietly working for energy conscious, environmentally-friendly computers.
